Big Weekend

Finally, a pretty nice day without gale force winds.  Because before today, the wind hadn't stopped blowing for at least four days.  I have tried saying that "the wind is my friend,"  but frankly, it kind of annoys me.  During a time that we usually try to spend a lot of time outside, it just hasn't been the greatest weather for hanging out on the porch.  Even after Dad mounted a new television in a prime location back there, we just have had enough of the wind, already!

So our little community hosts the Sunflower Art, Food & Wine Festival and state wine competition.  This year, I was a wine tasting judge, and what a great time that was.  Truly, I was so surprised at the quality of Oklahoma wines, and I certainly want to seek out some others.  Winemaking depends on many variables, but it was definitely encouraging to taste so many good wines from right here near home.

Other exciting *note the sarcasm* things that happened today, were several good cooking shows on the Food Network, baby puppy Clare had a bath, and Dad got the RZR out of storage for the summer.  Ho Hum.  We live an exciting life here in middle America.
