Updating

I was doing a little updating to my "About Me" page and to the Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram links yesterday.  You'll have to go check those out if you want to see what new information I have decided to share.  Like the layers of an onion...

Last week, Chevy officially announced the 2014 Stingray Corvette.  Oooooohhhhh..... very nice.  Over my years as a driver, I have seen many reinventions of this car, but this one is really cool.  Yes, I can drive a standard.  My dad made sure of it.  I had a CJ-5 Jeep in high school, and he made me take my driving test in it.  I just knew I needed to drive the big family van, with air conditioning and all, but it didn't happen.  I also had to check my own oil, tire pressure, etc.  Wow, it's nice to be a grown up.
Probably not going to be seeing one of these in my neighborhood this year.  It's a Maserati Ghibli.  I would bet that you couldn't even get one of these worked on within a 500 mile radius of my home.  Never been up close with one of these big boys, and I wonder what all the fuss is about.
Oh, look here!  A "practical Lamborghini" -- whaaaaa?????  I guess since they put four doors on it, that makes it family friendly.  And practical.  Available in 2017.
Here before you know it.
You can't talk about sweet cars without mentioning Porsche.  I kind of like their SUV, but again, my remote location keeps me grounded.  This little baby has an over 600 hp engine.  Unbelievable.  Who really needs that?  But it's cute.  Not the price-of-a-house cute, but I would drive it.  Also available in 2017.  Plenty of time to start saving!
Since I do love cars, I noticed a picture of a black velvet covered Ferrari on my Facebook Lily page. Yes, ridiculous, but quite a sight, nonetheless.  Then, while reading the news, I saw an article that the new Pope was encouraging Catholics to "choose a more humble car" for their mode of transportation.  The article is here.  Makes sense, and I felt like I had been extravagant in my suggestion that this black Ferrari was kind of cool.  Not that I was going to go shopping for a black velvet car of any kind, but more like I felt guilty for even commenting on it.  Point being -- just because something comes out of my mouth doesn't mean I have carefully considered every word and its effect.  This blog is just a place where thoughts fly off the top of my head most usually.  And the cars were kinda fun.  I will definitely revisit this subject.  Vroooommmmmm..............
