Normal For Us
Surely, we are the same as any other nuclear family. We think we are hilarious at times. We think no one acts as silly as we do. We think we face unusual challenges. We pull on our pants one leg at a time, just like everyone else.
But then, there is the evidence.
Exhibit A -
This is my brother, and his now 16-year-old son. They were in the photo booth at the G & L wedding held here last summer. I don't know if this picture was right before or right after they had everyone in stitches by doing an impromptu dance number which involved an imaginary fishing rod and reel. I am afraid there is no video, but it was right up there with some of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Exhibit B -
Here we are on a gondola in Venice. Apparently, you are supposed to kiss as you pass under bridges. Theoretically, I don't believe you are to kiss your brother-in-law, but these two couldn't resist setting this picture up. Even though they are sitting about five feet apart, they thought they were so comical.
Exhibit C -
How many of you can say that your mom rode a camel in Egypt at the Great Pyramid of Giza? This wasn't 30 years ago. This was in celebration of her and my dad's 50th wedding anniversary two years ago. Crazy. FYI - I didn't get on one.
Exhibit D -
No disrespect to the locals is meant here. This was Dad's souvenir from his camel ride. We all had them. Pretty sure he hasn't worn it since. Check out the lovely motor coach. Their buses were nicer than most buses I see here. And the air conditioning was a welcome relief after exploring the pyramids in the sweltering summer heat.
Exhibit E -
My brother is the original photobomber. I could fill an entire album with pictures with which he has interfered. Yep, that's him.
Exhibit F -
I don't live with them, but I get the impression that his family is constantly in this state of hysteria. Most of the time that I am with them, this is not at all an unusual scene. This was at our house last Christmas.
I love him and his family!
