Why does it feel like a new year to me? It could be the decent weather we have been teased with lately. It could be the daylight savings time that I #dislike.
It just feels like a whole new schedule is upon us.
So Monday, I decided to shake things up. I had to be somewhere first thing in the morning, but after that, I spent the whole morning back at home, trying to catch up that ridiculous laundry pile. It was absolutely beautiful outside. Barely a breath of wind, temperature warm enough for shorts, but I was comfortable in pants, and I made a little free time for golf. In case you don't know, I would not consider myself a golfer. I can count the number of times I have golfed in the last ten years on one hand. But the day was gorgeous, and I decided I was going golfing. I called my dad, who had said he wanted to start golfing a little bit, -- middle of the day -- and I said, "I'm going, do you want to go?" Within 30 minutes, we were teeing off for a quick 9 holes.
And not to brag or anything, but I only lost one golfball!
I should have been home doing laundry. I probably should have been cooking dinner. But after the golf game, I rushed in, changed clothes and ran off to exercise class. Okay, I stroll back in the house, a sweaty mess, and I get a text message that a delivery is coming within the next few minutes. Whaaaa? Okay, this is where the story has to be a bit vague. These people come in the door carrying a very large frame, and it is being carried backwards so that I cannot see it. The rancher isn't home yet, and he is missing all the excitement. What the heck? The title of this piece of artwork is revealed to me, it is called "Lily in Bronze." It was in the stars. Someone thought it had to be for me. But I wasn't at this event, so they generously purchased it for me. Sounds like a sculpture, doesn't it? Well, it is a sculpture -- mounted on a beautiful giant frame. A true piece of art. Hint: It is a bust and torso. I sort of want to show you the picture I took of it, but it's personal. I feel like you need to be a friend of mine, and be a guest in my house -- happy for you to see it. :)
Sorry to leave you hanging!
Recent success in our family.... the rancher's dad, who is also a rancher, has refused to own a computer. He thinks it's going to be too hard to learn how to use, and he won't know how to do it. After about, no kidding, talking about it for over 15 years, we are getting ready to hook him up. He is going to love it. He is going to enjoy the up-to-the-minute news. There are some things he collects, and he is absolutely going to be overwhelmed with everything he will be able to find, read, and learn.
Never quit learning!
